About the Payments Supervisor, Finance Operations

The Payments Supervisor, Finance Operations oversees the entire payment function across legal entities of Idinsight will report directly to the Finance Controller.  The supervisor shall ensure that the payment Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) with the internal clients are met. They will also be responsible for setting up automated weekly and monthly MIS from the ERP to Finance leadership to ensure timely reporting on SLA’s.

This role is ideal for a payments finance professional with exposure to multi-country, multi-currency set-up and is well versed with leading payment cycle through ERP. This would also be an excellent role for an experienced financial professional looking to transition to the Social Sector and/or candidates from a consulting or accounting firm background who are transitioning to working within a company’s finance organization.

The candidate should have experience in global payments and Internal controls, as well as exposure to project management, with demonstrated success working across multiple functions in an organization.  Prior work in international multi-entity environments is preferred.  Those applying should expect a significant amount of work produced directly on their own and will also coordinate work across the organization.

Responsibilities

Payment Management (70 – 75%)

Oversee the ERP payment processing

  • Running the end-to end payment process in Unit4 ERP
    • Generating the remittance proposal for vendors and employees, updating the payment process log, and updating the payment forms with workflow completion dates and remittance proposal ids
    • Running the mass posting of expenses for all the entities
    • Review of manual payment batches to ensure appropriate documentation and calculation
    • Analyze expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
    • Reconcile accounts payable total and general ledger with other applicable records 
  • Facilitate correct and timely preparation of payment reports
  • Ensure proper recordkeeping of payments for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.
  • Ensure employer and vendor database is maintained properly and upto date including bank details
  • Ensure proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records in case of audits.
  • Providing support to internal teams in furnishing bank information details, facilitating proof of payment and preparing employee reconciliations as required
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Finance Controller

Internal stakeholder management (10-15%)

  • Drive and improve internal stakeholder management w.r.t. payment confirmations and management of end-user queries
  • Prepare and deliver training on payment processes for new joiners
  • Communicate effectively with teams across the organization to ensure new processes are rolled out effectively initially and continue to function effectively
  • Work with Systems Manager and Financial Controller to improve upon payment processes implemented

Treasury Management (10-15%)

  • Oversee and administer the banking relationships of the organization in multiple countries, and ensure that transactions are handled in the most cost-effective manner possible
  • Collaborate with US accounting lead to ensure appropriate management of cash balances across the organization’s legal entities in various countries
  • Be the point person responsible for filling up forms and providing all banking information to project teams
  • Maintain and share W-9 form the US entity

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of work experience in finance, with experience of managing AP team in a multi entity multi geography structure
  • Demonstrated success at building effective processes
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare effective presentations and other communications
  • Experience in a project-based client service environment highly desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant areas required. Master’s degree in a related area is helpful but not required.
  • Experience in ERP environment highly desirable
  • Professional accounting qualification - CPA/ACA/ACCA part II or equivalent strongly preferred.

The position is located in Delhi, Lusaka, Nairobi, Dakar, Rabat.

 

Start date

The start date of this position is flexible, although there is the potential to start almost immediately. We expect a minimum one-year commitment, with regular professional development conversations and potential for a long-term career at IDinsight.
