About the System Administrator role

The Unit4 System Administrator will independently own and maintain the Unit4 Business World (Unit4 BW) ERP system to ensure smooth functioning of organizational processes like Project Management (from initiation to closure), Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Budgeting, Invoicing and Operations.

The Unit4 System Administrator  will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of Unit4 ERP, working with various departments like Finance, Operations, Client- facing teams, and others to deliver business requirements and support enhancements to specifications. They shall be responsible for developing Standard Operating Procedures for service delivery to internal stakeholders and ensuring timely user support and development projects.

Responsibilities:

The Unit4 System Administrator will be responsible for the following: 

  • System Implementation in close coordination with the finance team, Unit4 support team, and Unit4 consultants currently working on the internal ERP transition. Lead the requirements gathering, process mapping, solution & design, development of system enhancements, documentation & training materials, and system troubleshooting during the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase of implementation and provide the necessary support to achieve Go-live timelines. 
  • System Maintenance, including user and roles administration, set up and maintenance of core system functions and automation (like workflows, attribute master files or any other fixed Registers/configuration, etc.), the integrity of system configuration & overall system health to meet business requirements.
  • Service Delivery to Internal Stakeholders - Identifying System issues, troubleshooting, supporting and training business functions and end users, coordinating with the Unit4 cloud support team,  developing of service delivery plan and process, and ensuring service timelines and turnaround time requirements are met to cause minimum disruption to the on-going business.
  • Reporting and Dashboards - Development of information browsers, inquiries, and dashboards, development of formal outputs & Reports (using SQL/RERX/Excelerator) as per requirements of regional and functional teams. Assist business users in developing and maintaining reports as required and improve the efficiency of data extraction from U4BW.
  • Technical system administration, including running updates, patches & backups as available from Unit4. The candidate will also be responsible for maintenance & support of integrations of Unit4 to other third-party software and systems and work closely with the Senior Operations Administrator and Finance Systems Lead.
  • Stakeholder management - The candidate will interact with the users and business to understand the problems and ensure the deliverables are aligned with the business needs. The candidate shall be responsible for on-time delivery of development projects, implementation, and business process automation to requirements.
  • Identify opportunities and deliver continuous system improvement, and support business processes. Track new upgrades and releases by Unit4 and identify opportunities to improve processes, develop a development plan for rolling out new functionalities and identify solutions for implementing additional requirements



Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Computer science/IT/Electronics Engineering or equivalent University degree
  • Prior experience of 3 - 4 years as an ERP system administrator (multiple modules – Accounting, Financials, Project Management, Personnel, Time and Expenses)
  • Proven experience of providing 2nd & 3rd line ERP user support
  • Proficient in SQL and relational database application, writing and scripting
  • Solutions-oriented, with an ability to translate strategic ideas to action plans working across multiple work-streams in parallel
  • High level of independence and sharp attention to detail
  • Excellent soft skills and communication skills across all mediums (written communications, public speaking, teamwork, and upward management). 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of U4ERP - multiple modules will be beneficial, not essential
  • Ideally, someone who’s been involved in data migration, project upgrades, or any significant change programs
  • Understanding of accountancy and also financial practices and procedures 
  • Experience with service-based organizations

Location

This position can be based in IDinsight’s offices in New Delhi, India; Nairobi, Kenya; Lusaka, Zambia; Dakar, Senegal; Rabat, Morocco, or remote-based.  Preference will be given to those with pre-existing work authorization in these countries; however, IDInsight will seek work permits where possible for exceptional candidates. 

Start date

The start date of this position is immediate, with a preference for candidates that can start as soon as possible. We expect a 2-year minimum commitment, with regular professional development conversations and potential for a long-term career at IDinsight.
